Why this Google Analytics Limits Reference and Features List

As one of the first Google Analytics Certified Professionals and Google Analytics 360 Reseller – we often exhaust all possibilities in our customer projects. Unfortunately, a lot of research is always necessary to get the actual limits; they are sometimes scattered, if publicly discoverable at all, or out of date. At this point we would like to thank Brian Clifton for his article published in 2012!

We also have the limits and differences in a Google Analytics 360 Comparison compared with the free Standard Edition. This way you can clearly understand when it is worth switching to Analytics 360 and when it is not.

What’s included:

  • Analytics Sampling Limits (Collection, Reporting)
  • Export Limits
  • Unique Rows (cardinality; leads to (other) entries)
  • Number of hits per session (yes, that exists too!)
  • Account Limit: Properties, Views, Goals, Dashboards, …
  • Data Imports: what amounts of data can be in Google Analytics can be imported
  • API Limits
  • Integrations: Doubleclick, Adwords, BigQuery, AdSense, Google Play, …
  • Attribution Modeling
  • and finally: SLA (Service Level Agreement) and currentness of the data in Google Analytics

Two requests:

  1. If you like the collection, please spread the word, like, share and feel free to link it in your own blog articles!
