What is AMP?

AMP – Accelerated Mobile Pages – is an HTML-based framework for optimizing the loading time of mobile websites.  AMPHTML is read more easily and quickly by browsers or loaded directly from the Google AMP cache.

Google started the AMP project back in 2015 to meet user demands for faster mobile websites. Today, mobile search queries have long since overtaken those on the desktop and all major online media and news portals use the technology.

What should you pay attention to?

We recommend taking the following points into account when planning:

  • Ad platform– It is worth finding out about the guidelines of the respective platform beforehand. For example, Display & Video 360, the Google Marketing Platform solution, only offers inventory with AMP websites for AMP Ads. In addition, creatives with video integration are not yet supported there.
