Intro

To reach customers beyond brick-and-mortar retail during the COVID-19 lockdown, SPORT 2000 looked for ways to implement targeted digital and regional measures. The goal was to increase awareness not only for nearby retailers, but also for the newly launched online shop with an ordering function at the respective retailer.

The results—over 87% viewability and a high number of website conversions (sessions), as well as product enquiries and purchases—are impressive.

Measures

We created a template that could be used by all participating retailers. This resulted in 2 display ad sizes for 206 retailers and therefore over 400 creatives. Using Display & Video 360 and dynamic creatives, sports enthusiasts were served a motif from the appropriate SPORT 2000 retailer near them. The link led directly to the respective retailer overview page in the SPORT 2000 online shop.

Results

SPORT 2000 was able to increase awareness of local retailers and additionally promote the newly created online shop accordingly, supporting retailers during the lockdown. Both viewability and website conversions increased thanks to the numerous creatives.
